I appreciate your call to action Chris. It is overwhelming to read this and be living in these times and end up feeling hopeless. Writing letters and making calls is good. The real action will be turning over the current legislative bodies in states and national to bring in people who are committed to mitigate the damage already done. There is no quick fix or easy way out. We have a long way to go in correcting the current trajectory of raping all the natural resources for profit and greed.

Thank you, Chris. You do a wonderful job of helping us lay people understand a complicated subject. Your sharing is valued more than you can ever know.

Chris, what strikes me most is not the +4.5°C upper-end forecast itself, but the fact that the entire forecast envelope keeps shifting upward with each new run.

At some point, “the Y-axis keeps moving” becomes more than a striking title—it becomes a warning that our historical analogues may no longer be sufficient.

The key question now may be whether the ensemble distribution continues to move upward through September and October, and whether the ocean–atmosphere coupling confirms what the models are seeing. If it does, 2026–27 may become less a comparison with 1982–83 or 2015–16, and more an event we will eventually use as a new reference point.

Thank you for continuing to document this so carefully.

The Canadian Liberal government of pM Mark Carney seems to wish climate change would just "go away" is promoting the Tar Sands pipeline through BC to enhanc fossil fuel corporation's sending of bitumen to China and India for processing into fuels to be burned = adding more GHG's to the atmosphere for even more wildfires and floods in our country. What insanity!

Thank you for consistently and reliably laying out complex information about climate change. I’m truly afraid for our planet at large and our children.

Well, the wait is over then. Mother Nature is serving up her final warning. I believe that politics will understand. How can’t they. Unfortunately, we have to wait another 12 months. Tick, tick, tick goes the default on our window to experience this marvellous wonder.

Human Awareness alters in the next year. The reality of life on earth and our understanding is about to fundamentally change. Intellect has identified its place incorrectly, we are an opportunity, nothing more. An opportunity for energy to find a way to outlast universal laws, if intellect can place itself in this context, not giving over to it’s imagination, (but working with it certainly) - perhaps we can find a path to allow for the inheritors of our knowledge to enjoy many more millennia. We love and live on the energy of the earth. Evidently it has a built in default, that will remove a destructive intellect. Let’s not be that dim witted.

I miss watching you on KCCI, but I believe the work and research you are doing now is the most important thing you can do to promote awareness about climate change.

A couple of weeks ago, I walked past a brick building in West Des Moines after dark and could actually feel the heat radiating off the wall—it was incredible.

warming alarmist should be happy the ocean is shedding heat. no surprise its hotter than the last few given the mild century long warming trend. Nino is a slice of the ocean. Australia is another slice at the end of that Nino flow and is currently 2C, yes two whole degrees, cooler now than it was in 2024.
